Going green

Damn, lost my password and id of my old blog. Guess I'll have to start a new one. And this is it. A new blog. Carson's New Place. I know it's lame. Can't think of any other title for my new blog.

If you are a new reader who desire to read my boring old blog, here is the link.

Read this article first before I continue.

Yes, ice melting in the arctic region. Before that I thought it was no big deal — just ice melting and flooding some islands. I never expected tons of greenhouse gases (carbon and methane) to be trapped under the ice. If global warming continues, the effects are disastrous — islands vanishing under the ocean, millions of homeless people and of course, more global warming.

Thus I started doing something for the environment. I read another article saying that poultry produce a lot of carbon, so I thought of being a vegetarian. But it is hard to resist the temptation of meat, since I'm a meat lover. Therefore I have become an occasional meat eater. Then I bought a metallic lunch box and have used it every day when I buy lunch. I also reduce the usage of paper to save trees and water the plants every day, hoping they can provide more oxygen and absorb more carbon. And I pray every night for God to stop global warming. I know these sound trivial and silly, but at least I'm doing my part to save the environment, not just creating groups on Facebook saying something like "We need 1,000,000 members to prove we want to stop global warming". What the hell.

Now whenever I see those thick reference books or text books, I can't stop wondering how many trees have been cut to make these books. *sigh*

I am not trying to sound like those extreme environmental supporters. What I'm doing here is to share the news with you readers, and hopefully you can make a change to your life to become more environmental friendly, such as reduce usage of plastic bags and polystyrene containers and plant more plants.

That's all. =)
